Plain-English summary. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across cfoscience.ca. The site uses semantic HTML, descriptive alt text, keyboard navigation, and sufficient colour contrast. The one area we cannot fully control is the third-party scheduling widget — if it's a barrier for you, the contact form and email are fully accessible alternatives.
1. Our commitment
CFO Science Inc. is committed to making cfoscience.ca accessible to all visitors, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, or other assistive technologies. We treat accessibility as an ongoing obligation, not a checkbox.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Where we fall short, we want to know.
2. Standards we target
WCAG 2.1 Level AA is published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and is the international benchmark for web accessibility. It covers four principles:
- Perceivable — information and interface components are presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
- Operable — interface components and navigation are operable by keyboard and other input methods.
- Understandable — information and operation of the interface are understandable.
- Robust — content can be reliably interpreted by assistive technologies.
WCAG 2.1 AA is also the benchmark referenced by Ontario's accessibility legislation (see section 5).
3. What we have done
Steps we have taken to meet WCAG 2.1 AA across this site:
- Semantic HTML with a consistent heading hierarchy on every page.
- All meaningful images have descriptive
alttext. Purely decorative images usealt=""so screen readers skip them. - Text and background colour combinations meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios for both normal and large text.
- All interactive elements — links, buttons, form fields — are reachable and operable by keyboard alone.
- Pages reflow correctly at 400% browser zoom without requiring horizontal scrolling.
- No content flashes more than three times per second.
- Form fields have associated labels and descriptive error messages.
4. Known limitations
The scheduling widget on the Contact and For Practice Owners pages is provided by a third-party service (Reclaim AI). We load it as an embedded script and cannot guarantee that it meets every WCAG 2.1 AA criterion — that is the responsibility of the third-party provider.
If the scheduling widget is a barrier for you, you have two fully accessible alternatives on the same page:
- Use the contact form directly below the widget.
- Email us at hello@cfoscience.ca — we will reply with available times within one business day.
5. AODA
CFO Science Inc. is an Ontario-based business and is aware of its obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). This statement reflects our ongoing efforts to meet those obligations with respect to our website.
